Sources you can trust

Oregon Law Help is a joint project of the Oregon State Bar, the Oregon Judicial Department, Legal Aid Services of Oregon, the Oregon Law Center, the Oregon Law Foundation, and Oregon Consumer Justice. Legal Aid Services of Oregon and the Legal Service Corporation's support for this site is limited to activities consistent with LSC restrictions. 

We work together to create information that is accurate, easy to understand, and actionable.

This site is in transition and growing 

The project partners are re-creating the Oregon Law Help website, which has long been hosted by Legal Aid Services of Oregon (LASO), into a centralized source for legal information and referrals. The site brings together legal information currently spread across multiple websites (Oregon State Bar, LASO, Oregon Law Center and the Oregon Judicial Department) into one unified, user-friendly resource and adds new tools to help Oregonians find the specific help they need.  

The new self-help pathways are currently available in housing and family law issues. The site will apply these new pathways to additional areas of law through 2024 and 2025.  

While we work through the transition, the site will continue to direct users to legal information on the other partner websites through the Legal Information Library. Eventually, Oregon Law Help will provide a one-stop, centralized resource for Oregonians seeking help with their civil legal needs.   

The Oregon Judicial Department will continue to provide information specific to the state’s circuit, appellate, and tax courts (court location, contacts, calendar, records, processes, forms, etc.). You can access that information directly and Oregon Law Help will also link to those resources as appropriate. 

Types of Cases 

The updated Oregon Law Help has information on housing and family law, as well as links to information on other civil legal issues in Oregon. It does not have information on criminal law in Oregon.
