Types of Termination Notices
Oregon has three kinds of termination notices: (1) No Cause Notices, (2) For Cause Notices, and (3) Landlord Cause Notices. Your landlord must give you one of these kinds of notices if they want you to move out of your rental.
It's helpful to know what kind of notice you got, because each notice has different rules your landlord must follow, such as how much time they must give you to move out or what information they must include in the notice.

No Cause Notices
A no cause notice is a notice asking you to move for no reason. In Oregon, your landlord can only give you this type of notice if you haven't live in your rental for more than one year. Learn more about no cause notices here. For Cause Termination Notices
If you disobeyed your rental agreement or did something wrong, your landlord could give you a "for cause notice." Learn more about your rights when you get this type of notice here.Landlord Cause Notices
If you've lived in your rental for more than one year, and haven't done anything wrong, your landlord can only ask you to move if they have a "qualifying landlord reason." Your landlord also has to give you at least 90 days to move. Learn more here.
